Disabling system restore will speed up your computer significantly, most people think that system restore will backup their data, which is wrong, it will only restore program states and files such as *.exe, *.dlls, registry settings, etc…

The quickest way to disable system restore is to press [Windows]+[Break]:

Then click on the System Restore tab and click on Turn Off System Restore.
If you are careful you should never need to use System Restore, or if you really want just turn on system restore when you are installing your applications, or turn it off only after a while after you have installed something new.

Don’t you hate shutting down your computer only to realize that you have 10 minutes of updates? Or have a popup box asking you to reboot your computer every 5 minutes? Take control of your updates by either disabling or rescheduling so that it doesn’t strike you when you are rushing off for dinner at the end of the day.

Automatic update will generally try to computer once a day, but since most users turn off their computers by 3:00 AM in the morning (the default setting) it will probably only check during the start of the day when you first turn on your computer. This is my first month of Blogging and i have learned quite a lot, today i realised that WordPress is not very friendly when it comes to avoiding duplicate content on search engines. For anyone who does not understand this term, here is a quick explanation:

WordPress by default has the main page with your articles, each article can be found on the categories page, the archive page, and it?s own page. The problem with this is search engines will spider (travel from link to link) examining content and eventually listing it in their search engine. Unfortunately in a standard WordPress installation this will lead to several pages having the same, or very similar content. These days search engines will penalise a site for this, meaning your important page might not be listed, or certain important pages may be lower in the searches than they should be.

After doing quite a bit of research i finally decided on the following solution:

1. I added the following to the header.php of my current theme. This will stop pages that are NOT a single page (a full post), a content page (like about), or the home page from being listed in search engines.

2. I added the following to my header.php file of my current theme, this will give unique titles and descriptions depending on what type of page it is. (Make sure you remove any lines relating to <title> or <META NAME=?DESCRIPTION? or <META NAME=?KEYWORDS? otherwise it may not work correctly. NOTE: Please change the text in italics to your titles, descriptions and keywords to suit your site.

3. I use the following robots.txt file which stops search engines viewing some pages. In this case it will allow the Mediapartners-Google bot access (this is used for determining what adverts AdSense displays) which is necessary for relevant ads. The final line is a link to the sitemap file i use.

Here I will show you 4 basic steps to do to Build and Analyze or diagnostics your own computer, pc using free software CPU-Z. Easy and simple steps to do and understand.

Step 1
Download CPU-Z from www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php (Click here to Download) and copy the zip file’s contents into a folder. CPU-Z requires no installation, which means you can simply delete the folder when you are finished with it! The first CPU tab shows general information about your system processor.

What You can do with CPU-Z?
CPU-Z is a freeware that gathers information on some of the main devices of your system. CPU-Z will help you to analyzing of:

CPU
Name and number.
Core stepping and process.
Package.
Core voltage.
Internal and external clocks, clock multiplier.
Supported instructions sets.
Cache information.

Mainboard
Vendor, model and revision.
BIOS model and date.
Chipset (northbridge and southbridge) and sensor.
Graphic interface.

Memory
Frequency and timings.
Module(s) specification using SPD (Serial Presence Detect) : vendor, serial number, timings table.

System
Windows and DirectX version.

Step 2
Switch to the Mainboard tab and you can see details about your motherboard, BIOS, and graphic interface. Take particular note of your motherboard’s manufacturer- this will come in handy if your board becomes faulty and you need to call customer support.

Step 3
Click on the Memory tab- you’ll see your system’s RAM type shown in the first box. If you want to add to your PC’s memory, then you should buy the same type in order to ensure compatibility. For a computer running Windows Vista, you should ideally have at least 1024 MB of RAM.

Step 4

Select the About tab. This tab contains three tools, including the Registers Dump utility – click on the Registers Dump button and save a text file. Open this file up, and you’ll find a plethora of different PC specifications, which will be helpful to more advanced users
